I’m thrilled to be able to announce today the launch of the 2018 Canada Summer Jobs grant program.
Applications are being accepted from December 19, 2017 – February 2, 2018. You can find out more and apply at Canada.ca/Canada-summer-jobs
The program provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create summer job opportunities for students aged 15 to 30. Not-for-profit employers are eligible for reimbursement of up to 100% of the minimum hourly wage. All employers may be eligible for additional funding of up to $3,000 per student with disabilities to accommodate the student within the workplace.
Again this year, as in 2017, the riding’s budget for youth summer job creation has increased from $284,000 in 2015 to just over $563,000 for 2018. Every corner of this riding will once again benefit from the Canada Summer Jobs Program. It’s anticipated that this funding will increase the number of students who will be eligible for this program from 113 in 2015 to over 220 again this year.
